What Vaccinations does my pet need?
For the health, safety, and welfare of all A Place for Pets Resort & Spa guests and staff we require the following:
- Written proof of up-to-date vaccinations including
- Rabies: Yearly or every three years
- DHLP-P (Distemper/Parvo): Once per year
- Bordetella (Canine Cough): Once every six months
Please have your veterinarian fax your pet's vaccination records to us as soon as you make your reservation. Our fax number is 972-335-3167. Failure to provide written proof for required vaccinations will result in the denial or cancellation of all services.
What do I need to bring?
You may bring whatever makes your pet comfortable. Toys and bedding should be labeled and washable. However if you prefer we will provide your dog with a bed, toys and bones at no extra charge to you.
*We are not responsible for lost or destroyed items.
Can I bring my pet's food and treats?
Yes! In fact we recommend it! It's always best to keep your pet on their regular diet and eating schedule. We ask any food or treats are in plastic sealable containers and well labeled.
What if I forget my pets food?
No problem! We will happily provide food at no extra charge to you. We feed the dogs the Canidae line of high quality all natural organic food. It's available in canned or dry for your convenience. We also have the specialty formulas for the special needs dog. For more information on this brand of food take a look at their website. Canidae.com
Can I stop by and look at your boarding facility?
Of course! Drop in anytime! A member of our staff will happily show you around and explain our services to you. In fact, we recommend you tour anywhere you're thinking of leaving your precious pet.
I have a bunny and a guinea pig...can you take of them?
At A Place for Pets we are equipped to care for all small animals, birds, fish, and of course cats and dogs! We have a "Quiet Room" for all little critters to keep them happy, safe and healthy.
How many times does my dog go outside a day?
We take each dog out for a potty break twice daily, in the morning between 7 and 8:30 am and the evening between 5:30 and 7 pm. We find this works quite well but if you feel your pet needs to go outside more often we offer extra potty breaks for a nominal fee.
Does my pet just sit in a cage all day?
NO! At A Place for Pets Resort & Spa we wouldn't hear of it! First of all we don't have ANY cages. Each run is separate but is light and bright, open and airy. We love our clients and make sure each and every animal gets hugs and cuddles throughout the day. We especially love to make them doggy smile!
Can I call and check on my pet?
Of course you can! We understand our client's humans can be a little nervous and worried and we are happy to give you an up to the minute report on your precious one at any time. Please call us anytime at 972-377-3122 with any question or concern.
